'New Year in the Philippines - Expat\'s first Filipino New Year!'

'New Year in the Philippines - Expat\'s first Filipino New Year! My first New Year in the Philippines as an expat, without my family and friends... Things didn\'t go as planned, but eventually turned out quite good. We first had some drinks at home and planned to have dinner at Olivia & Co. A couple of days earlier I messaged them to ask if they were open on New Years Eve, which they also confirmed. Christine also called them a couple of hours before we would go there to ask until what time they were open. In both cases, none of them mentioned that we had to make reservations. As you can see in the video, that was a big fail, since they were fully booked. Then we decided to go to Bonifacio High Street and find a place to eat there... well... another failure, since every restaurant was super crowded. Eventually we gave it a last shot and went to Tomatito (in BGC), a Spanish restaurant nearby. We were lucky that they still had two spots at the bar, and a bit later we were able to move to a table. The food at Tomatito is really good. The servings are a bit small, considering the price, but it\'s really nicely presented and tastes delicious! We had \'Costillas de cerdo\' (BBQ ribs) and \'Pollo a la Barcelonesa\' (chicken) as main course, and \'Flan Tropical\' and \'Panacota de Vainilla\' as our desserts... YUMMY! After all of that we were so tired that we decided to go home to watch the fireworks instead of on Bonifacio High Street, since it was so crowded. I read somewhere that Filipinos are welcoming the New Year with loud noise is said to drive away the bad vibes... and yes, there is a lot of noise (apart from the fireworks)! I hope you all enjoyed watching this video... please like, share, comment, and don\'t forget to subscribe if you aren\'t already. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
