'Sport Walk Trail Blog No.5 - Short walks, losing fitness & a whole load of other stuff!'

'OK, this is blog a long one. The frustration at not really being able to produce any new content since the beginning of the year was always going to make it so! In his first Trail Blog since the end of 2021, Roger talks about why there\'s been a gap in content, he discusses the value of short walks, learns that his hill fitness has completely evaporated and marvels at his mountain surroundings in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK - The Lake District. He\'s climbing Loughrigg Fell, which sits next to Grasmere, a beautiful lake on the main road to Keswick from Windermere and during one of his many breaks to recover (yes, it was that bad!!!) he talks about Sport Walk\'s support for and partnership with, mental health charity \'Sport In Mind\' and the plans they have to work together to promote Sport Walking. Sport In Mind is a designated charity for UK events such as the Ultra Challenge Series and so this is a natural and well fitting alliance. Sport Walk\'s online course \'My First Ultra\' ( https://sport-walk.teachable.com/p/my-first-ultra ) will be a key tool to help those seeking to raise money for Sport In Mind and the partnership will help those seeking to build challenge into their lives for mental wellbeing.'
