'BBG Home Jump Rope Workout'

'Doing a jump rope workout is a great way to get your heart rate up and work out your entire body. It’s perfect for anyone who is short on time, or anyone who doesn’t have a treadmill at home to do cardio. In this video, SWEAT trainer Kayla Itsines takes us through a quick cardio jump rope workout that you can do at home.  Training with a skipping rope increases your heart rate for an effective cardio workout, improves coordination and works multiple muscles at the same time. Plus it’s an affordable and easy to store piece of equipment.  To do this workout, just make sure you have enough room for the skipping rope to turn without catching. This means space above you to stop the skipping rope from hitting the ceiling, and space around you so you’re not going to hit anything with the rope. You will also need a pair of dumbbells, but if you don’t have these you can easily substitute them for something you’ll have around the house such as water bottles or food cans.  This jump rope workout combines skipping exercises with strength training, making it a full-body workout. You’ll be alternating between skipping and bodyweight exercises in 30-second intervals, for three laps. The aim is to perform as many reps of the exercise you’re doing within the 30 seconds. Once you’ve completed all the exercises once, you’ve finished one lap. Repeat for three laps with a 1-minute break in between, and you’re done.
