'There are so many benefits to working out on the beach, for our mind, body, and spirit.  Here are just a few tips and benefits to tickle your fancy and get you out there moving on that sand.  The sand has less impact on your joints than pavement.  This is great for preventing injury or causing any harsh impact on your joints like pavement can do overtime.  Having to strengthen the muscles around your joints that don\'t usually get worked help to strengthen the joints themselves.  Because of these great benefits of working out on the sand, be cautious when first starting out.  Start on the harder sand down by the water and slowly work up to the softer sand over time.  You will be sore after even just a walk on the sand so always be sure to stretch before and after.  You will find that the sand\'s surface is making you work much harder than you may be used to when you are at the gym.  My advice, take advantage of that hard work!  Since you\'re working harder, you won\'t have to spend hours doing your normal routine.  You\'re already mixing up your ground surface and resistance, so you can cut your workout time in half.  Training harder for less time is more beneficial for the body anyway.  It\'s forced to use more ATP (adenosine triphosphate - the molecule that transfers chemical energy) within your cells for higher metabolism, which will carry on throughout your day forcing your metabolism to heighten and become faster.
